Parenting

Parenting is hard work! You have plenty of time to educate yourself and prepare if this is the choice you decide to make. Some important things to consider when you find yourself unexpectedly pregnant are:

What does your support system look like?

Who is a part of your support system and how involved would they be?

Are you familiar with the community resources to help you?

What options are available to you for childcare after the baby is born?

Do you currently live in a safe environment to raise a child?

We can help you navigate through these questions and many others you may have. While parenting may feel overwhelming, especially when you didn’t plan for it, you can be successful! There are options for you and solutions to the problems you are facing. Most importantly, you don’t have to do it alone. We provide free one-on-one prenatal & parenting classes to help you prepare for your baby’s birth and beyond.

Here are just a few of the topics our classes cover:

Prenatal development

Labor & delivery

Breastfeeding

Sleep habits

Immunizations

Nutrition

First-year milestones

Infant care

Discipline

Potty training

With each class that you attend you will earn Care Cash that you can use in our Baby Boutiques to exchange for necessary baby items, such as diapers, wipes, baby clothes, blankets and more. Classes typically last a half-hour, with an additional half-hour available to shop for your items. If necessary, we can also refer you to local agencies that can support you in other ways such as housing, food, formula, and healthcare.
